Achieving Consistent Drug Testing Results: An FTIR Analysis Study by TN Scientific

Updated: May 21, 2023

I. Introduction

In this study conducted by TN Scientific, we focus on exploring the consistency of our Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) machine's testing procedures, particularly in the domain of drug testing. Three distinct substances, namely Aspirin, Xylazine, and Lidocaine, form the center of our test.

II. Methodology

To evaluate the consistency of our FTIR drug testing procedures, each drug sample underwent three distinct tests. Our scoring mechanism assigns scores ranging between 0 and 1000, with a higher score denoting a higher presence of the tested substance.

III. Results

The scores yielded by our FTIR drug tests for the three substances are as follows:

Aspirin:

Test 1: 951

Test 2: 949

Test 3: 947

Lidocaine:

Test 1: 933

Test 2: 928

Test 3: 927

Xylazine:

Test 1: 639

Test 2: 633

Test 3: 636

To offer a more comprehensive understanding of these results, spectrographs corresponding to these tests will be appended at the end of this study. Due to their detailed nature and size, the spectrographs will be presented separately, but they are instrumental in providing a visual demonstration of our results.

IV. Discussion

The drug test scores analyzed showed high consistency for each individual substance. For Aspirin, the maximum deviation was only 4 points, while for Lidocaine, it was 6 points. Such consistency showcases the high degree of reliability embedded in our FTIR machine's testing processes.

Similarly, for Xylazine, the maximum deviation observed was a mere 6 points difference, indicating its consistent detection.

V. Conclusion

In conclusion, this study underlines the FTIR machine's capacity to consistently provide reliable results across multiple drug tests of the same sample for Aspirin, Xylazine, and Lidocaine. This remarkable level of precision demonstrates the machine's superior performance in drug testing scenarios. At TN Scientific, we pledge to maintain this high degree of testing integrity through continual performance monitoring and evaluation of our equipment.
